Yoga sequence using various props catches attention of kids and helps them improve their concentration. Over time, as children develop the ability to focus for longer periods of time the postures are progressed and breathing time is also increased.
Standing poses build posture. Balancing poses develop core strength. Achieving success with a difficult pose builds child's self-esteem (but never compare yourself to other kids in the class).
Reduces Stress & Anxiety
Controlled breathing through grounding exercise at the beginning of the class can decrease anxiety and Savasana at the end of the class is adored by all kids as it has a calming and relaxing effect
I have noticed tremendous improvement with some of my students over the last few months. Kids as young as age 4 are continuesly focusing during the class and progressing with flexibility and yoga technique.
Recent surveys showed that the kids really love the meditation and mindfulness aspect of the class but I also noticed progress with Yoga Poses and Breathing techniques.
